SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of October 8-October 12, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Rustin Guillot, 355 Hood St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Auto Burglary and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Jaden Meire, 604 Chetimatches St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 18, pled guilty to Auto Burglary (2 counts) and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  3. Brandi Palmer, 13330 Crawford Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 33, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  4. Jesse Blakeman, 12533 Laurel Ridge Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Simple Arson and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Leila Braswell. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets. 

  1. Michael Madison, 3215 Caesar Lane Donaldsonville, LA., age 63, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation along with home incarceration.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Clifford Harris III, 902 E 10th St. Thibodaux, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Hunter Breaux, 126 Renee St. Pierre Part, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Computer-Aided Solicitation of a Minor, Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile, and Pornography Involving Juveniles. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant must register and notify as a sex offender for a period of 15 years.
  3. Randall Gregg Hughes Jr., 119 Pauline St. Pierre Part, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. James Bell, 410 Front St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Monetary Instrument Abuse (2 counts), Misdemeanor Theft, and Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  5. Teddy Boudoin Jr., 13247 Palm St. Vacherie, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  6. Brandon Harris, 150 Pecan St. Napoleonville, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Production and Manufacture of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Distribution of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 12 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Lana Chaney and Kenneth Dupaty. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

St. James Parish:

  1. On May 17, 2018, Maurice Honor of 1447 Old Spanish Trail Paradis, LA., age 32, was found guilty of 1st Degree Robbery. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On October 9, 2018, the defendant was sentenced to 40 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
  2. On June 11, 2018, Wesley Verdin of Theriot, LA., age 40, pled guilty to DWI 4th Offense. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On October 9, 2018, the defendant was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Adam Koenig, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

  1. John Celestine Jr., 8308 Pecan Lane St. James, LA., age 47, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Murder and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
