SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of May 20 – May 24, 2019, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Jennifer Waker, 14453 George Rouyea Rd. Gonzales, LA, age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 4 years supervised probation.
  2. Delerious Williams, 14212 Bert Allen Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 24, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 3 years supervised probation. 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Shawn Bush and Joni Buquoi. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc. 

  1. Titus Green, 3663 73rd St. Baton Rouge, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1 year supervised probation.
  2. Delany Harris, 15404 Palmetto Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Sherrod Champ, 1763 Jackson Ave. New Orleans, LA., age 45, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Jason Blanton, 41056 Rustling Oaks Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 36, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  5. Angela Guist, 12288 David Lessard Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 47, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  6. Kandi Pierre, 42245 Moody Dixon Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of an Access Card and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  7. Carlos Nicholas, 512 Nicholas Dr. Donaldsonville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, Simple Burglary, and Felony Theft. The defendant was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kenneth Dupaty and Steven Tureau. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

Assumption Parish:

    1. Grant Walker, 250 Murial St. Bayou L’Ourse, LA., age 23, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 8 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
    2. Ruby Guist, 103 Breaux St. Pierre Part, LA., age 59, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Distribution of a Schedule IV Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
    3. Tyler Tillman, 1401 Plantation Rd. Thibodaux, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

St. James Parish:

  1.  Dan Jones, 1218 Old Vacherie Rd. Vacherie, LA., age 47, pled guilty to DWI 3rd Offense. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  2. Melissa Kirklin, 222 N Nobile St. Gramercy, LA., age 47, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
