SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of May 16-May 20, 2016, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James

Ascension Parish:

 

  1. Jesus Monterrosas, 40206 Coontrap Rd. Apt. 33 Gonzales, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Negligent Homicide and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  1. Nicole Breaux, 17250 Hwy 929 Prairieville, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Moveable and Forgery. The defendant was sentenced to two years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count to run concurrent with one another. The imposed sentence is to be suspended, and the defendant is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Ryan Phelps, 43497 Norwood Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  1. Natalie August, 109 Azalea Dr. Apt. 18 Donaldsonville, LA., age 50, pled guilty to Theft valued at $1500 or more and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years unsupervised probation.

 

  1. Michael Laiche, 3599 Hwy 3125 Paulina, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm or Carrying of a Concealed Weapon by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Casey Toye, 37313 Hwy 74 Apt. 115 Geismar, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Moveable and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Larry English II, 3135 Tovlon Rd. #D Baton Rouge, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Driving While Intoxicated 3rd Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

 

  1. Brandon Jeane, 43462 R. Daigle Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 21, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  1. Adam Martin, 501 5th Donaldsonville, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

  • Joseph Scott, 10507 Buxton Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Driving While Intoxicated 3rd Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.

 

  • Brent Louque, 1441 Second St. Lutcher, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm or Carrying of a Concealed Weapon by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 6 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Joni Buquoi and Sara Clarke. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

 

  1. Jessica Chaney, 2320 N Amelia St. Gonzales, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Crimes Against Nature and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Jonathan Small, 2320 N Amelia St. Gonzales, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Crimes Against Nature and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Shawn Bush. The presiding judge was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

 

Assumption Parish:

 

Assumption Parish had no court news to report this week.

 

St. James Parish:

 

  1. Dalton Coyer, 1051 County Rd. Florence, AL., age 30, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Justin Johnson, 1051 County Rd. Florence, AL., age 32, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Things and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

 

  1. Ray Rheams, 206 Plum St. Gramercy, LA., age 54, pled guilty to the charge of Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator 2nd Offense and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
