SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of June 8 – June 12, 2020, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Jamie Bourke, 6219 John Tullier Rd. Sorrento, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Brian Carcisse, 12307 Dutchtown Villa Dr. Geismar, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The defendant is to serve 4 years of the said sentence and 1 year is to be suspended. Upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on supervised probation for 1 year.
  3. Blaine Dearmond, 18096 Little Prairie Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Richard Scott, 1220 N Willow St. Gonzales, LA., age 54, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 1 year in the parish jail with credit for time served.
  5. Bertrell Ransom, 901 Pine St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Possession or Introduction of Contraband in a Penal Institution and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Craig Stewart and Maeghen Kling. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Emile St. Pierre.

Assumption Parish:
