SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of June 25-June 29, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Jordan Debate, 11480 George Lambert Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

  1. Fallon Gautreau, 18386 Donna St. Prairieville, LA., age 29, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  2. Latasha Hall 97 Francis Lane Greensburg, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Obtaining Drugs by Fraudulent Means and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.
  3. Ron Mczeal, 12072 Cypress Ridge Dr. Geismar, LA., age 49, pled guilty to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Gerald Ortega, 40459 W Hernandez Prairieville, LA., age 32, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Charles “Chuck” Long, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Tess Stromberg.

Assumption Parish:

  1. Keith Boudreaux, 1300 Ridgefield Ave. Thibodaux, LA., age 58, pled guilty to Theft Valued Over $5,000, but Less than $25,000 and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Ranson Holder, Angleton TX., age 32, pled guilty to Resisting an Officer with Force or Violence and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  3. Sharnita Lowery, 206 Hwy 998 Belle Rose, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Theft of Goods Valued at $1500 or More and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  4. Latisha Landry, Pierre Part, LA., age 35, pled guilty to Credit Card Fraud by Persons Authorized to Provide Goods and Services (2 counts) and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. On the charge of Credit Card Fraud by Persons Authorized to Provide Goods and Services (2 counts), the defendant was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. On the charge of Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance, the defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The suspended sentence is to run consecutive to the 3 year sentence.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

  1. Skiler Rhodes, Belle Rose, LA., age 26, pled Guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentenced is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
  2. On May 30, 2018, Bruce Landry of 191 Grisaffe Ln. Belle Rose, LA., age 22, pled guilty to First Degree Robbery. On June 27, 2018, the defendant was sentenced to 30 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Aubrey Breaux, Pierre Part, LA., age 76, pled guilty to Sexual Battery and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. It was ordered that 2 years of the said sentence are to be suspended, and upon release from incarceration, the defendant is to be placed on 2 years supervised probation.

St. James Parish:
