SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of June 17 – June 21, 2019, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

1. Joseph Babin, 13091 Shee Lee Place Gonzales, LA., age 33, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Cruelty to Juveniles and was sentenced to 20 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

2. Chad Robert, 6100 Panama St. Sorrento, LA., age 50, pled guilty to Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

3. Clarence Williams Jr., 11066 Conner Rd. Geismar, LA., age 41, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Battery by Strangulation and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

4. Brett Cuti, 3246 Toranto Dr. Baton Rouge, LA., age 19, pled guilty to Aggravated Battery and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

5. Brian Lambert, 724 S Sammy St. Gonzales, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Battery of a Dating Partner and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

6. Kris Randolph, 2125 S Darla Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 29, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Battery and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and place on 5 years supervised probation.

7. Kalvin Ross, 1216 S Burnside Ave. Gonzales, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Simple Burglary (2 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation. The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Shawn Bush and Joni Buquoi. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Jessie LeBlanc.

8. Adrian Andre, 117 Hawthorne Hollow Madisonville, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of a Moveable and was sentenced to 1 year with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

9. Wade Pardue, 411 E Verna St. Gonzales, LA., age 40, pled guilty to Failure to Register and Notify as a Sex Offender or Child Predator and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

10. Jory Person, 44329 Gold Place Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 38, pled guilty to Attempted Forgery and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

11. Katherine Tate, 103 Woodland Dr. Donaldsonville, LA., age 62, pled guilty to Theft Valued at $1,000 or More, but Less than $5,000 and was sentenced to 18 months in the parish jail with credit for time served.

12. Malik Washington, 1312 St. Vincent St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 20, pled guilty to Nonconsensual Disclosure of a Private Image and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

13. Glen Farmer, 43520 Elmo Cannon Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 51, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

14. Daniel Brooks, 14496 Oak Meadow St. Gonzales, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Kenneth Dupaty and Steven Tureau. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

Assumption Parish:

1. Scott Breaux, Plattenville, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Theft of Timber. The defendant was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

2. Keylon Barrow, Gonzales, LA., age, 23, pled guilty to Illegal Possession of Stolen Firearms and was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation.

3. Trey Andrews, Napoleonville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

4. On September 17, 2018, Theresa Furnish of 128 Oak Lane Pierre Part, LA., age 54, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. On June 17, 2019, Furnish was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

St. James Parish:

1. Brent Louque, 221 Wayne St. Paulina, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 7 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Bruce Mohon, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Jason Verdigets.
