SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of June 11- June 15, 2018, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish:

  1. Bertran Fisher, 8370-32 S St. Landry Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 1-year supervised probation.
  2. Sheri Francis, 2619 S Hodgeson Rd. Gonzales, LA., age 45, pled guilty to Forgery (3 counts) and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  3. Skylar Johnsen, 7824 Amsberry Circle Baton Rouge, LA., age 28, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Phil Maples, and presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert.

  1. Evan Ritchie, 77630 McBay Dr. Grosse Tette, LA., age 26, pled guilty to Simple Burglary. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  2. Kyon Barnes, 6603 Hirsh Rd. Houston, TX., age 22, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Annette Burch, Marion, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Forgery (3 counts) and was sentenced to 9 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Alicia Davis, 43282 Riverside Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Felony Hit and Run Driving and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  5. Brittany Ward, 702 5th St. Donaldsonville, LA., age 30, pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Aggravated Assault and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  6. Bryan Aycock, Houston, TX., age 20, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and Simple Criminal Damage to Property. The defendant was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  7. Shawna Briley, 1653 LA 431 Prairieville, LA., age 42, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  8. Jeremy Faggard, 13098 Leo Lambert Rd. St. Amant, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Unauthorized Use of Food Stamp Coupons and was sentenced to 2 years in the parish jail with credit for time served.
  9. Brian Gibson, 24641 Setton Rd. Livingston, LA., age 48, pled guilty to Theft of a Motor Vehicle and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  10. Timothy Wright, 37113 White Rd. Prairieville, LA., age 52, pled guilty to False Impersonation of a Police Officer and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  11. Jonathan Whitney, 39402 Camp Dr. Prairieville, LA., age 22, pled guilty to Illegal Use of Weapons and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. The defendant was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.

Assumption Parish:

Assumption Parish had no court news to report this week.

St. James Parish:

  1. Barry Freas, 37 Concord Loop Pearl River, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance (2 counts) and was sentenced to 4 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  2. Warren St. Martin III, 300 Elm St. LaPlace, LA., age 31, pled guilty to Conspiracy to Commit Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Raymond Albert III, 3246 Kirkland Dr. Paulina, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  4. Jerald Johnson, 2020 Basie Dr. Marrero, LA., age 39, pled guilty to Possession of Firearms with Obliterated Numbers or Marks and was sentenced to 2 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 2 years supervised probation.
  5. Wesley Verdin, Theriot, LA., age 40, pled guilty to DWI 4th Offense. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation.
  6. On March 10, 2018, Brent Zeller of 1390 Second St. Lutcher, LA., age 36, pled guilty to Simple Burglary. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On June 11, 2018, Zeller was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

  1.  On March 6, 2018, Elizabeth Fuentes of 1239 N Ezidore St. Gramercy, LA., age 33, pled guilty to Aggravated Burglary and Theft of a Motor Vehicle. Sentencing was deferred to a later date pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On June 14, 2018, Fuentes was sentenced to 25 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
