SERVING ASCENSION, ASSUMPTION & ST. JAMES PARISHES

During the week of August 28-September 1, 2017, the following defendants pled guilty to various charges and were sentenced in the 23rd Judicial District Court, Parishes of Ascension, Assumption, and St. James.

Ascension Parish: 

  1. Quinton Bolding, 6150 Babin Wilson St. Convent, LA., age 40, pled guilty on July 10, 2017 to Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. On August 28, 2017, Bolding was sentenced to 10 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. It was ordered that the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.
  2. Christopher LeBlanc, 576 Unadilla St. Shreveport, LA., age 25, pled guilty to Simple Burglary and was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
  3. Melba Irvin, 15037 Beau Jon Ave. Prairieville, LA., age 54, was found guilty by a jury on March 28, 2017 of Theft of Assets of an Aged or Disabled Person. On August 28, 2017, Irvin was sentenced to 5 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 5 years supervised probation.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Shawn Bush and Phil Maples. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert. 

 

Assumption Parish: 

  1. Danny Reding, 161 Elaine St. Morgan City, LA., age 52, pled guilty to Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and was sentenced to 8 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served. The said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
  2. Adonis Jarvis, 1305 E Bayou Rd. Donaldsonville, LA., age 26, pled guilty to False Imprisonment while Armed with a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. Jarvis was sentenced to 10 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. It was ordered that the sentences are to run concurrent with one another, and the said sentence is to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
  3. Edis Alex Mejia Irias, 247 Green Ct. Napoleonville, LA., age 44, pled guilty to Possession or Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution and was sentenced to 360 days with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  4. Tyrone Tucker Jr., 111 Gold St. Napoleonville, LA., age 21, pled guilty to Unauthorized Entry of an Inhabited Dwelling and Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance. Tucker was sentenced to 5 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served on each count. It was ordered that the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another. It was further ordered that the said sentence is to be suspended, and Tucker is to be placed on 5 years supervised probation.
  5. Katie Landry, 107 Oak Ln. Pierre Part, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Vehicular Homicide and Vehicular Negligent Injuring (2 counts) on June 26, 2017. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation. On August 28, 2017, Judge Turner ordered that Landry be committed to the Louisiana Department of Corrections for 20 years with credit for time served. It was ordered that 3 years of the imposed sentence are to be served without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. In addition, it was ordered that Landry is to pay restitution in the amount of $12,000 within 24 months of her release.

The above cases were prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lana Chaney and District Attorney Ricky Babin. Presiding over these matters was the Honorable Judge Alvin Turner Jr.

  1. Donnie Daigle, 209 Jefferson St. Napoleonville, LA., age 27, pled guilty to Aggravated Flight from an Officer and was sentenced to 1 year at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  2. Alex Cedotal, Pierre Part, LA., age 53, pled guilty to Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance and was sentenced to 18 months at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
  3. Ramiro Bazaldua Jr., 6060 St. Elizabeth St. Paincourtville, LA., age 29, pled guilty to DWI 4th Offense. Sentencing was deferred pending a Pre-Sentence Investigation and is set for October 25, 2017.
  4. Thomas Fontenot, 3203 Hwy 70 S Pierre Part, LA., age 18, pled guilty to Simple Robbery and was sentenced to 3 years at hard labor with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.

St. James Parish:

 

  1. Denisha Wilson, 2636-2 Brooks Apartments Lutcher, LA., age 17, pled guilty to Cruelty to Juveniles and Simple Assault on a School Teacher. On the charge of Cruelty to Juveniles, Wilson was sentenced to 18 months with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 18 months supervised probation. On the charge of Simple Assault on a School Teacher, Wilson was sentenced to 6 months in the parish jail with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 6 months unsupervised probation. It was further ordered that the imposed sentences are to run concurrent with one another.
  2. Melissa Clark, 6508 Comite Dr. Baker, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Attempted Obtaining Drugs by Fraudulent Means and was sentenced to 3 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served, to be suspended, and placed on 3 years supervised probation.
