Belle Rose Man Pleads Guilty to Distribution of Crack Cocaine

On July 16, 2018, Todd Franklin of 267 Hwy 1003 Belle Rose, LA., age 37, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Franklin was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2016 narcotics investigation.

During the course of an ongoing narcotics investigation conducted by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office, undercover agents purchased a quantity of crack cocaine from Franklin at a pre-determined location. Upon completion of the sale, the narcotics were submitted into evidence and a warrant of arrest was issued for Franklin. Franklin was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, as per the plea agreement with prosecutors, Franklin was sentenced to 15 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
