Amelia Woman Pleads Guilty to Distribution of Meth

On July 17, 2019, Jennifer Beecher of 190 Beadle St. Amelia, LA., age 34, pled guilty to Distribution of a Schedule II Controlled Dangerous Substance. Beecher was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Thomas Daigle, and presiding over this matter was the Honorable Judge Thomas Kliebert. This guilty plea was the result of a plea agreement with prosecutors following a 2016 narcotics investigation targeting street level drug dealers in Assumption Parish.

In October of 2016, narcotics agents with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover narcotics investigation. During the course of this investigation, agents purchased a quantity of methamphetamine from Jennifer Beecher in the Bayou L’Ourse community. Agents met Beecher at a pre-determined location, purchased the narcotics, and submitted the narcotics into evidence. Agents obtained a warrant of arrest for Beecher who was subsequently arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center.

Upon entering a guilty plea to the above-mentioned charge, pursuant to the plea agreement with prosecutors, Beecher was sentenced to 12 years with the Louisiana Department of Corrections with credit for time served.
